EXIT Santa Cruz is looking for extraordinary people to help create extraordinary experiences. We have one full-time and three part-time positions available.
Full-time Manager (1 position)
The manager will oversee operations, including:
- Schedule and supervise gamemasters
- Coordinate with independent contractors and vendors
- Coordinate prop and room design and installation with owners
- Repair and replace props when necessary
- Manage social media
Managers will also serve as gamemasters. The successful applicant will be enthusiastic, dedicated, responsible, and have excellent problem-solving skills. The manager will need to be able to plan effectively, multitask during high-volume times, and respond skillfully to varying demands. The manager must have a strong commitment to maintaining the excellent reputation and fun atmosphere of EXIT Santa Cruz.
Hours are evenings and weekends, with some weekday bookings. Interest and/or experience with team-building facilitation is a plus. Salary is $35,000/year. Health insurance will be provided.
Part-time Gamemaster (3 positions)
Gamemasters will be responsible for helping players have a fun experience. You will greet players when they arrive, explain rules, and monitor players during the game, providing clues when appropriate. After the game, you will debrief players and reset the rooms. Gamemasters will also be responsible for answering phone calls and emails to answer questions and book games, as well as keeping the lobby and bathrooms tidy.
The successful applicant will be outgoing, detail-oriented, responsible, flexible, and have strong customer service skills. Gamemasters must be able to quickly gauge the needs of each group and tailor their energy, presentation, game flow and overall experience to best suit each team. They must also be able to quickly and creatively address problems that may arise without outside assistance. Hours are evenings and weekends. Pay is $15/hour.

Interviews will begin at the end of April and will consist of two rounds. In the first round, applicants will play an escape room, debrief the experience as a group, and complete an individual interview. In the second round, applicants will assist in running a game.
